File Specs

The information will help you in preparing your files for the best possible printing quality at PIP.

File Types
We accept most modern graphics formats; however, we work fastest with a print-ready PDF file.

Some artwork charges may apply to accepting artwork in other formats.

Basic Instructions

Make sure you are using high resolution artwork for anything you want us to print.

Low-res art is fine for a web page or email broadcast if you are doing a multi-channel campaign.

When creating, saving, or exporting a PDF file, it is important to include appropriate bleed settings.

Please do not include any crop or printer’s marks.

Large format (signage) files require .25” bleeds, while small format items such as letterhead, business cards, flyers, brochures, etc. requite .125” bleed.

Pre-flighting Tips for Design Professionals:

Embed, or convert fonts to outlines to eliminate font issues.

Do not use over printing on white objects, as the result will make the white objects fail to print.

Avoid interaction of transparent objects and items with transparent properties on top of spot colors.

Transparencies and spot colors do not interact well and will cause unintended print issues.

Export or save PDF files using the [PDF/X-4:2008] Adobe PDF Preset.

This preset does not have bleeds selected by default, so make sure to correctly export the bleeds.
